Matthew Segall, PhD

CEO and Company Director

Matt has a Master of Science in Computation from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge.

As Associate Director at Camitro (UK), ArQule Inc. and then Inpharmatica, he led a team developing predictive ADME models and state-of-the-art intuitive decision-support and visualization tools for drug discovery.

In January 2006, he became responsible for management of Inpharmatica’s ADME business, including experimental ADME services and the StarDrop software platform.

Following acquisition of Inpharmatica, Matt became Senior Director responsible for BioFocus DPI’s ADMET division and in 2009 led a management buyout of the StarDrop business to found Optibrium.

Ewa Buła

Account Manager 

Ewa has over a decade of experience in the life sciences industry with a biotechnology background, supporting clients across the early drug discovery and development journey. She began my career in the CRO sector, helping clients navigate complex processes from hit-to-lead through to GMP API manufacturing, providing tailored solutions to meet their scientific and operational needs. 

In her current role at Optibrium, she combine account management with active promotion of our software solutions. In the account management part of my role, she works closely with clients to build strong, long-term relationships, maintain trust, and expand engagement by understanding their evolving needs and ensuring our solutions continue to deliver value. In the second part of my role, she collaborate with scientific teams across Europe to introduce and promote Optibrium’s software, helping clients optimize drug discovery workflows and accelerate development projects.

Jennifer Nixon

Account Manager 

Jennifer leads Optibrium’s Business Development activities across the UK and Europe, drawing on over 15 years’ experience across healthcare and life sciences. 

She joined the life sciences industry in 2021, bringing extensive experience from the clinical trials sector. At Quanticate and Cytel, she supported clients across Phase I–IV studies, working closely with biopharmaceutical organisations to advance programmes through development.  

With a growing interest in the role of scientific software in accelerating innovation, Jennifer transitioned into drug discovery at Optibrium, where she now partners with organisations to support their research strategies and commercial objectives.
